The US Air Force has announced the arrival of the second B-21 Raider flight test aircraft on September 11 at Edwards Air Force Base in California.
Air Force officials said that the additional aircraft moves the test campaign beyond basic flight performance checks and into critical mission-systems and weapons-integration phases, a major step toward the sixth-generation bomber’s operational debut.
“With the arrival of the second B-21 Raider, our flight test campaign gains substantial momentum,” Secretary of the Air Force Troy Meink said in a statement.
“We can now expedite critical evaluations of mission systems and weapons capabilities, directly supporting the strategic deterrence and combat effectiveness envisioned for this aircraft.”
