New Mexico researcher Robert Hastings is reporting that a UFO incident over F.E. Warren AFB near Cheyenne, Wyoming, on 10/23/2010, has so spooked the brass that they’ve issued a gag order for all base personnel. But his allegations, published Monday at UFO Chronicles and filled with unnamed sources, constitute a gamble for an investigator known for getting military eyewitnesses to go on the record.

Last year The Atlantic magazine broke a story about how glitches in launch control center computers led to 50 Minuteman III missiles going offline at the 90th Missile Wing. A report in the March 5 edition of Air Force Times added additional details, in which the USAF blamed a faulty circuit card in a weapons-system processor for a “disruption” that lasted 59 minutes.
