How fast can we go? I am not to certain, but perhaps nature limits us, the ETI, and the UTI, to C in vacuu. Perhaps we should ask ourselves how gamma we can go.
Nature may limit all of us C as a protective measure so that the threat we pose to other species and in general so that the threat posed by a given ETI or UTI civilization can be censored Mother Nature.
If faster than light travel, either special relativistically and/or general relativistically leads to issues of non-locality and causality disruption, then I am convinced that faster than light travel as such is impossible if for no other reason than that Mother Nature would have done Herself in by self-contradiction. A system that evolves for self-destruction and disintegration will not stand.
However, we have all eternity to grow as a civilization and to achieve ever higher gamma factors, for which in the limit that we approach a first omega point, infinite gamma factors are the limit. What we will be capable or how we will have evolved after the first omega point is anyone’s guess, however perhaps there is an utterly unending and ever growing number of Cosmic Omega Points GOD has planned for HIS Creation including we humans.
